Sorry for the stupid question, but what does the picture on the bottom mean? I can recognice Mitnick down there, but who's /dev/null? The true author of this site or just a unix device node(in this case, it's a joke maybe?)? |

You didn't play Vampire the Mascquerade-Redemption, did you?
Dev'Nul is a malkavian who helps our hero (Cristof) in the second part of the game. He keeps seating behind his computer (like us^^) and is a great hacker, it is his way to help Cristof, 'cause he is too mad and can not join the group. |

Aah, so it's half joke(Dev'Nul as an npc's name). Yup, i got it.
Sorry, i didn't play redemption because it's impossible to get it in my country. It's even impossible to get the full version of bloodlines down there. Btw, i'm the lucky one at this point of view - my version only lacks music and some of the sounds, and the vpk's are already unpacked(but i can't use the model viewer then). It even gives me the opportunity to choose whether i want to use their crappy translation or not. The others are not so lucky - their versions have the translation hardcoded, and this translation may be extremely buggy - for example, doors might not open at all, lips won't move, the cutscenes are messed up a lot or don't show up at all. That's just examples, there are much more terrible changes done to the original - if you don't want to see all the voice in the dialogues ripped off, don't buy the 1cd version. 2cd will probably lack the music and something else, dvd, if you're lucky, will lack nothing, and the 3cd just doesn't exist - i've checked every store in my city. |

Here in France, that's a bit better... but truly not perfect, Vampire Bloodlines is very very bugged, fortunately we've got patches and mods... a great part of them have been released by Bloodipunk.
What is your country? England? |

Nope, i'm from Belarus(that's near Russia). It doesn't matter if vtmb is buggy itself - it's because the software pirates(the only choice to get videogames in my country) are messing them up. |

Wow! There are a lot of problems with VTMB in Belarus and France as I can see! But in Russia, where I live, there are no problems at all. Yes, of course, buggy pirated translations exist here. But our pirates are not so stupid. They released also pirated European version of VTMB (1DVD and 3CD, btw) and I am the happy owner of 3CD European version. After patching it to 1.2 and applying translation (which is extremely good because it is made by fans, not pirates) it works well enough. The only problem that's left is optimization. But, after all, nothing is perfect, isn't it so?.. _________________ My shadow darkens other domains... |
